Regulus, Eclipses, and the Iran War

This commentary follows the first article I published on June 23, 2025. If you have not read that piece, I recommend doing so first, as the pattern described there continues to unfold in a similar fashion.
In that initial piece, I explained how the conjunction between Mars and the fixed star Regulus, occurring between June 12 and June 22, 2025, corresponded with the escalation of military action against Iran by Israel and the United States.
On June 13, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the first missile strikes on Iran in an operation called Operation Rising Lion. Nine days later, on June 22, Donald Trump authorized the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan.
At the time, the symbolism in the sky was striking: Mars, the planet of war, was aligning with Regulus, the royal star located at 29 degrees of Leo, historically associated with kingship, authority, and dramatic displays of power.
Several months later, the same pattern appears again.
On February 28, 2026, Israel and the United States resumed their attacks on Iran. And once again, Regulus stands at the center of the astrological picture.
The Eclipse Opposite Regulus
In the documentary film I produced and directed, The Astrology of Pandemics, eclipses are used as a framework to analyze pandemic cycles. The same approach can be applied here.
On February 17, 2026, a solar eclipse occurred at 28 degrees of Aquarius, the exact degree opposite Regulus at 29 degrees Leo, as discussed in my previous article.
(The Iranian revolution happened in 1979, the year of an eclipse right on Regulus, but we will come back to that later).
Below is the chart of the eclipse set for Tehran, Iran, happened on February 17, 2026.

This eclipse interacts with the birth charts of the key protagonists involved in the conflict in a remarkable way.
The eclipse opposes:
Donald Trump’s Ascendant (29° Leo, exactly on Regulus)
Donald Trump’s Mars (26° Leo)
Benjamin Netanyahu’s Mars (26° Leo)
Israel’s national Mars (28° Leo)
The Ascendant of the Islamic Republic of Iran (29° Leo)

In other words, the eclipse activates the same sensitive degree, Regulus, in the charts of all actors involved. Three of four charts have the same Mars in sign and degree.
Statistically, such a pattern is extremely unlikely. Calculations suggest a probability of roughly 1 in 129600.
Another intriguing detail is that Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei were all born on eclipse days, a condition that astrologers often associate with heightened sensitivity to eclipse cycles.
Pluto Setting Over Tehran
Another remarkable feature of the eclipse chart emerges when it is calculated for Tehran.
At the moment of the eclipse, Pluto sits exactly on the Descendant of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at 4 degrees Aquarius.
In mundane astrology, Pluto symbolizes demolition, endings, and deep transformation. The Descendant of a nation's chart represents its relationships with other countries: alliances, diplomacy, and war.
With Pluto setting on the western horizon at the time of the eclipse, the symbolism points toward external forces bringing profound transformation, or even destruction, to the state itself.
To understand Pluto’s symbolism more clearly, consider a historical example. During the September 11 attacks in 2001, Pluto was positioned exactly on the Ascendant of the United States chart, at 12 degrees Sagittarius: a point representing the physical body of the nation (in this case it was the Twin Towers).
Uranus and the Signature of Sudden Events
The eclipse occurred in Aquarius, a sign traditionally ruled by Saturn and, in modern astrology, by Uranus.
At the time of the eclipse, Uranus was positioned at 27 degrees Taurus, forming a square (90-degree angle) with the eclipse degree.
Squares in astrology often correspond to crisis, tension, and conflict. With Uranus involved, the planet associated with revolution, disruption, and sudden shocks, the symbolism suggests unexpected geopolitical developments and abrupt changes in the balance of power.
Mars Activating the Eclipse
Eclipses often act like seeds planted in the sky. Their effects are frequently triggered later when planets pass over the eclipse degree. In this case, the trigger came quickly.
As Mars approached 28 degrees Aquarius, it activated the exact degree of the February 17 eclipse.
Mars reached this point on February 28, 2026, the very day Israel and the United States resumed their attacks on Iran, since June.
Once again, the pattern repeats: Mars activating an eclipse opposite Regulus, touching the charts of all the main protagonists in the conflict.
Mars in Pisces and the Nature of Iran’s Strategy and Possible Retaliation
At the time of the renewed attacks, Mars had entered Pisces.
Pisces is traditionally associated with water, concealment, and illusion, symbolism that appears increasingly relevant in the context of the conflict.
Several developments illustrate this dynamic:
Attacks targeting desalination facilities
Strategic tension surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and the installation of Iranian mines
Potential naval and submarine operations
Mars in Pisces often operates through indirect tactics, deception, and strategic illusion, warfare that relies less on brute force and more on misdirection.
A Lunar Eclipse and Iran’s Response
Following the solar eclipse of February 17, a lunar eclipse occurred on March 3, 2026, at 12 degrees Virgo.
The next eclipse will be the solar one on August 12, 2026.
In the chart of the Islamic Republic of Iran, this degree falls in the first house, representing the identity and physical body of the nation.
The first house is ruled by Mars, which in Iran’s chart lies in Pisces in the seventh house, the sector governing relations with foreign powers, diplomacy, and warfare.
This placement again emphasizes a maritime dimension to Iran’s strategic power.
Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical shipping routes in the world. Any disruption there would immediately impact global energy supply chains.
According to the Nuclear Threat Initiative, as of September 2025 the Iranian navy operated approximately 28-30 vessels, including submarines capable of asymmetric naval warfare.
Mars moving toward Iran’s natal Mars reinforces this theme.
The exact date of this transit occurred on April 4, 2026, suggesting a moment when tensions, and potentially retaliation, could intensify.
The Saturn-Neptune Cycle
Another important configuration occurred shortly before the renewed attacks.
On February 20, 2026, Saturn and Neptune formed an exact conjunction at 0 degrees Aries.
This rare alignment occurs approximately every 36 years and has historically coincided with major geopolitical transformations.
The previous Saturn–Neptune conjunction occurred in 1989 in Capricorn, the sign associated with structures and institutions. The planets reached exact alignment on November 9, 1989: the day the Berlin Wall fell.
Now the conjunction takes place in Aries, the sign of war, fire, and decisive action. Such a placement suggests the possibility of major geopolitical shifts in the years ahead.
Upcoming Astrological Key Dates
Several key dates in 2026 may further shape the trajectory of this conflict.
March 13, 2026
Mars reaches 8 degrees Pisces, forming a 90 degree angle with USA’s Uranus (8 degrees Gemini) and a 90 degree angle with both the ascendant and the descendant of the USA. Does this mean that the USA will escalate?
March 18, 2026
Mars moves to 12 degrees Pisces, directly opposite the degree of the March 3 lunar eclipse.
March 20, 2026 - 14:46 UTC
The Sun passes over the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0 degrees Aries, located at the vernal equinox, the symbolic beginning of the astrological year and Spring. This transit may “activate” the energies of that conjunction, as described earlier.
March 22, 2026
Mars reaches 15 degrees Pisces, opposing the Sun of Mojtaba Khamenei, the new Supreme Leader of Iran, and simultaneously opposing Netanyahu’s Saturn at 15 degrees Virgo, a potentially significant moment for both figures.
April 4, 2026
Mars transits the natal Mars of the Islamic Republic of Iran, possibly corresponding with a significant response from Iran.On the same day, Mercury ends its retrograde cycle and returns to the degree it occupied during the February 17 solar eclipse, potentially reactivating the themes of that eclipse.
April 10-11, 2026 (UTC)
Mars reaches 0 degrees Aries, the exact degree of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, further energizing this powerful cycle.
August 12 and August 28: Lunar and Solar Eclipses
These two eclipses will particularly be impactul for the USA as in both eclipses Saturn is opposite to the national USA Saturn.
A Possible Turning Point
The conflict may continue to evolve into 2027.
A solar eclipse on February 6, 2027, occurring at 17 degrees Aquarius, places Saturn directly on Iran’s Sun (11 degrees Aries), a configuration that could mark a decisive moment.
Two weeks later, on February 20, 2027, a lunar eclipse at 2 degrees Virgo follows.
Another significant moment may arrive on July 22, 2027, when Jupiter transits 29 degrees Leo - Regulus, the same degree that has repeatedly appeared throughout this conflict.
Symbols of Iran: The Moon, the Lion, and the Sun
For many observers, the deeper reasons behind this war remain unclear. Official explanations range from regime change, to nuclear deterrence, to self-defense.
Symbolism, however, often reveals underlying patterns.
The current flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran prominently features a crescent moon, reflecting the Islamic tradition and its connection to the lunar calendar. Just think of other flags where Islam is the primary religion: Pakistan, Afghanistan, Algeria, Tunisia, Malaysia, etc.

Before the revolution of 1979, however, Iran’s flag displayed a very different emblem: the Lion and the Sun, a symbol deeply embedded in Persian history and currently used by Iranians against the Islamic regime. It is very important to note that in the Iranian Revolution that saw the birth of the Islamic Republic of Iran was the same year of a solar eclipse happening right on Regulus, 29 degrees of Leo on August 22, 1979. This preceded the signature of the current Iranian constitution, which happened in December of the same year.

The lion and the sun evoke imagery closely associated with Leo and its solar principle, symbolism that revokes once again the celestial point that has repeatedly appeared throughout this conflict: Regulus, the heart of the Lion.
And perhaps unsurprisingly, the language of the military operations themselves seems to reflect this imagery.
The Israeli operation that began on February 28, 2026 was given the codename Operation Roaring Lion, while the American operation was named Operation Epic Fury.
When placed alongside the earlier offensive (June 2025) described in my first article, namely Operation Rising Lion, the repeated references to the lion begin to appear less coincidental.
At this point, the symbolic connection to Leo and its royal star, Regulus, throughout this conflict no longer feels surprising.
It is worth remembering that the Islamic Republic of Iran was born in 1979, the same year a solar eclipse occurred at 29 degrees of Leo: the exact degree of Regulus.
Before the revolution, Iran was officially a constitutional monarchy, though in practice it functioned more like an authoritarian monarchy under the Shah. When that eclipse occurred on Regulus, traditionally associated with kings, rulers, and the rise and fall of monarchies, Iran underwent a dramatic transformation. The monarchy collapsed and was replaced by the system that exists today, where religion and state power merge and the ultimate authority rests with the Supreme Leader.
Seen through this symbolic lens, the eclipse on Regulus marked the end of one form of concentrated authority and the birth of another.
Today, nearly half a century later, the same star continues to appear repeatedly in the charts of the key actors involved in this conflict. Both Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu were born with strong placements connected to Regulus, and their political styles increasingly evoke the imagery of rulers exercising power in highly personal and centralised ways, almost reflecting an absolute monarchy.
If Regulus truly symbolizes struggles around power, leadership, and the rise and fall of rulers, then its repeated appearance in this conflict raises an unsettling possibility: that the forces driving this war may extend far beyond the explanations currently offered to the public.
